Gullkistan Artist Residency in Iceland

This summer Dana Hargrove attended the Gullkistan residency at Gullkistan Center for Creativity. The residency is located within the small town by Lake Laugarvatn in the Laugardalur valley of South Iceland. Dana created several small paintings inspired by the surrounding mountains, forests, giesers, craters, and caves. The setting was a beautiful, creative retreat, working alongside several other writers and artists for the month of June.

The aim of Gullkistan is to provide a home and workspace for creative people of all professions in an international community in the sublime surroundings of south Iceland where they can work on their ideas and become a part of Icelandic culture locally and in a wider spectrum. – Gullkistan
